The Lady Stars faced the Southmont Mounties in the first round of the Sugar Creek Classic Tournament, ending the game with a tough 47-61 loss. The Stars started out strong, attacking the basket , taking good shots, and playing solid defense. The Lady Stars ended the first quarter up by two, doing their best to take that momentum into the rest of the game. The Mounties picked up their defensive intensity and pressure, forcing the Stars to commit a lot of bad passes and turnovers. As the game progressed, the Lady Stars tried to recover from the deficit, but fell short in the end. The team was led in scoring by Ila Stokes with 15 points, followed by Ki'erra Koch with 12. The Stars are back in action in the second round of the Sugar Creek Classic Tournament on Friday night at 6pm. Go Lady Stars!
