The Stars dominated North last night in a quick 2-set match, leaving the court with a 25-8 and 25-4 victory! The next few games look a little different for the Stars as our lineup had to be changed due to an absent player, but these girls embraced the changes and adjusted QUICKLY to get the job done! That ability to adapt, trust one another, and step into new roles is something I couldn’t be more proud of. Quinn Cunningham embraced a new role as a middle hitter and absolutely DOMINATED! Quinn had 6 hits on the night, 3 of which were kills! Sullie Smith also stepped into a new role as a hitter, and aside from putting some great hits down, she absolutely went OFF from the service line! Sullie served 17 STRAIGHT points for us in the first set, giving us an 18-1 lead! Alivia Smith also had the opportunity to serve last night and came through with 5 great serves, including 1 ACE! I am so proud of her for stepping up and taking advantage of her opportunity! From the first pass in the back row, to the set, to the attack at the net, this was a CLEAN, CONTROLLED, and SMART game of volleyball! The girls did an incredible job seeing the open spots on the court and placing the ball exactly where it needed to go. They never let up! Our back row had a WONDERFUL night, our offense did not disappoint, and every girl contributed to a team victory! Last night was also the girls’ LAST HOME GAME as a junior high team, and they certainly wanted to leave their home court with a WIN! I am beyond proud of these girls and everything they have accomplished so far this season. Watching them adjust, grow, trust each other, and continue to fight for one another has been one of my favorite parts of coaching this group. Only TWO regular-season games remain before the conference tournament… and I think it’s safe to say these girls are getting FIRED UP and ready to go! LET’S FINISH STRONG, STARS!
