The Western Boone 6th Grade Volleyball team added another win to its season Thursday night, defeating the Crawfordsville Athenians in two sets, 25-20 and 25-20, improving the Stars’ record to an impressive 6-1! The Stars got off to a bit of a rocky start and played somewhat timid early in the match, but they settled in, found their rhythm, and pulled together to earn the two-set victory. One of the biggest highlights of the night was the connection between setter Claire Morison and Everlee Hubbell. Claire connected with Everlee for five sets that Everlee finished with kills! Claire also set up Addie Everhart for two kills, as the Stars continue to make huge strides in setting up their offense and finishing points with an attack. The excitement continued during the extra B-team set. With the game on the line, Ruby Cain stepped to the service line in a high-pressure situation and delivered the serve the Stars needed to secure the win! It was a tremendous moment and a great example of the confidence this group continues to build. Another great night of growth and another WIN for the Stars as they move to 6-1 on the season! Western Boone is excited to return home Monday night as the Stars welcome the Lebanon Tigers for a 6 p.m. matchup!
