Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Stars had a tough battle against the Tigers last night, going three sets and ultimately pulling through with the win, 25-9, 23-25, 17-15! The Stars got off to a great start in the first set, defeating the Tigers in a quick 25-9 set. From there, Lebanon showed that they wanted it just as badly and battled back to take the second set in a tough 23-25 finish. The third set was a battle from start to finish. We came out with a good lead, but Lebanon fought their way back while we were in serve receive. When it came down to the final points, the Stars wanted it more and found a way to pull out the win against a rival school! Eliza Baird had a GREAT game against the Tigers, leading the team in aces with 5 aces on 7 serves! Baird also recorded 8 hits on the night, with 4 of those being kills. We are so proud of everything this Star has accomplished so far this season! Riley Cervi showed just how versatile she can be, recording 2 back-row attacks for the FIRST time in her volleyball career! What a huge accomplishment for Riley! Overall, our offense played well with 59 total hits and 21 total kills! There is always room to improve, though, so let’s get back in the gym today, get to work, and focus on maximizing our points early in the game so we don’t have any more close calls! We’re ready for North Montgomery on Thursday! GO STARS!
