Our girls came out with great speed and effort Tuesday evening against North Montgomery! We struggled a bit early on with attacking the ball and communication, but the team as a whole continued to compete and make adjustments throughout the game! One of the biggest positives was seeing the girls take the new drills we’ve been working on in practice and apply them during game time, as well as taking the coaching from halftime and making those adjustments on the field in the second half. That growth, effort, and coachability are what we love to see as coaches. In the second half, we saw some great movement and had a handful of shots on goal as the team settled in and played with more confidence. Our goalkeeper, Violet Hillger (8th grade), also had an outstanding night with a dozen saves. She also put into action many of the things she has been learning in practice, such as crashing the ball and making aggressive plays in goal. North Montgomery took the win, 0-2, with a goal scored in each half. While the score wasn’t in our favor, we were once again proud of our girls for their effort, resilience, and willingness to learn. We take on Crawfordsville Thursday on their home turf!
