The WeBo boys tennis team hosted their former conference foe Tri-West on Wednesday night. The Stars won the first two points of the night from 3S with Owen Oakley winning in straight sets and at 2D with Logan Cripe and Reese Young earning the win. The last point of the night for the Stars came from Easton Nance at 2S. The junior won the first set, but Wyatt McMillan responded by winning the 2nd set 3-6. After trading points in the super tiebreaker to tie it up at 6-6, Nance scored two points to permanently take the lead and the win for the Stars. A special shout out goes to senior Owen Oakley. Owen earned his 63rd varsity win in tonight's match which is the most wins in a Western Boone tennis career. His overall record is 63-12 in his high school career. Congratulations Owen! The JV Stars had a tough night, falling 0-5 to the Bruins. Even in the defeat, the Stars showed they are improving with every match. The Stars are now 12-3 on the season and look forward to Saturday where they travel to Crawfordsville for the Monon Conference Tournament.
