Hard Work paying off for 8th grade Stars

Last night against Clinton Prairie was a game these girls have been talking about since last season. After losing to CP last year, they made it their goal to come back this season and get the win—and they did EXACTLY that! I have been so blessed to coach these girls for the past two years, and watching them work day after day in the gym to improve, learn, and perfect every little detail has been so rewarding. They wanted this win, and they showed it from the very first serve all the way through the final point. They never let up! The Stars defeated Clinton Prairie in 2 sets, 25-16 and 25-9! I would honestly call this a flawless game from the Stars. Every single girl contributed, and it would be impossible to choose just a handful of players to highlight because EVERYONE played phenomenal! This team continues to impress me more and more with every game, and with only 5 games left in the season, the future is SO bright for the Stars! 🔥 Quinn Cunningham has improved SO much since last season and continues to be such a great asset to this team. She had 7 hits last night, with 6 being kills! 💥 Jade Hobson continues to make an impact in both the front and back row. Aside from her kills, she had absolutely unstoppable serves last night, including our largest serving streak of the night with 13 serves—5 of them being aces! ⚡️ Eliza Baird, one of our middles, has been working hard on tweaking her technique in practice, and it is paying off! Her hits are connecting better than ever, and I know that as she continues building on this improvement, she is going to be unstoppable at the net. Last night she picked up 5 great hits for the Stars! 🔥 Lexi Wilt was ON FIRE at the net! She found the same spot on the court over and over, and CP simply could not return it. She finished the night with 13 hits - all 13 being kills! That is 13 points straight to the Stars’ scoreboard! 💥 Emery Clements returned from an injury later in the season and has continued to prove herself on the court ever since. Last night she recorded her first kill of the season and played an incredibly smart game. We are SO proud of her! ⚡️ Phoebe Bruder has been such a great right-side addition to this team and picked up yet another kill for the Stars last night! 🔥 Corah Edwards, our one and only setter, continues to prove herself game after game. We truly couldn’t play without her! Her wonderful sets are what allow our girls to attack offensively and put points on the board. Aside from her assists and 2 dumps, Corah also had 7 serves for the Stars! And our passers… WHAT A GAME! We have not been hit on like this all season, and their response was incredible. They stepped up when we needed them most! 💥 Riley Cervi was SPEEDY to the ball and shut down so many hard hits from CP. Aside from her passing, she had 7 serves, including 3 aces! ⚡️ Alivia Adkins had an amazing game, following every ball all the way to the end line and calling multiple balls out to add quick points to the scoreboard. She also had the dig of her volleyball career so far! What an incredible performance from her! 🔥 Bristol Demaree had a great night in the back row, playing tough defense and allowing the Stars to keep playing after receiving some HARD serves and hits. There were a few questionable balls that could have gone either way, but Bristol kept them in play! 💥 Sullie Smith had an INSANE night in the back row! She dove for an extremely hard hit and, with just one hand, got the dig and kept the ball alive! She also had 6 serves, 3 of them being aces! The stats truly show just how incredible and versatile this team is. These girls are a force on the volleyball court, and they continue to impress me game after game. It has been rumored that Clinton Prairie has been undefeated since 5th grade, so what an accomplishment this was for our girls! But more than the score, I am proud of the work, determination, teamwork, and fight they showed to reach a goal they set for themselves almost a year ago. I couldn’t be more proud of these girls and everything they accomplished last night. 5 games left. Keep working. Keep fighting. Keep believing. GO STARS! ⭐️
