Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The High School Cross Country teams travelled to North Montgomery for the 56th annual Charger Classic Thursday evening. With near perfect conditions, the Stars showed up giving their best efforts of the season so far. For the girls, Joan Gearheart finished 8th(22:52) with Abigayle Hudmphrey in 11th(23:04) both receiving ribbons, while Claire Torp with a new personal best just missed the top 15 in 16th with a 24:10. Harmony Gilbrech came in 38th(27:08), Katrina Brewer 41st(27:46), Adalyn Sartin 45th(29:09) and Britney Richwine 47th(30:11). The girls team finished 4th overall. In the boys race, Aiden Lester finished 6th(17:30), Brennen Bivens got a new lifetime best of 17:51 in 9th, while Ari Smith pushed to an 11th place finish in 18:22, all receiving ribbons. Rex Stanley and Caleb Crockett pushed each other the entire way to finish 34th and 35th respectively with 20:07 and 20:12. Kole Nelson and Griffin Johanson also went back to back for 48th and 49th place with a 21:38 and 21:40. Hayden Trenary (54th) and Blaine Ballentine (55th) sprinted the finish only to be separated by a split second of 22:00.3 and 22:00.4. Simon Yager continued to drop time with a 25:06, Izaack Harsin came in at 27:54 and Jacob Nance at 30:05. The boys also finished in 4th place as a team. The Stars will be back in action on Saturday at the Ben Davis Invitational.
