Although the Stars fell just short of the victory, going home with scores of 22-25 and 17-25, the final score did not reflect how incredibly well these girls played together! The Stars connected passes, played aggressively at the net, blocked, covered our hitters, and communicated well on every ball. It was so exciting to see the girls working together and trusting one another throughout the entire match. Tonight was also extra special as Emery Clements made her return to the court after being out for several weeks with an injury! We couldn’t be happier to have her back! Emery came in ready to play, scored multiple points for the Stars, and proved just how valuable she is to this team. Our defense had an incredible night, leaving no dropped balls and doing an outstanding job reading the court, making multiple digs, and keeping tough hits alive. Our offense finished with 15 total kills and 5 total blocks for the night! Danville was one tough team, but the Stars aren't hanging their heads after this one. When you play with the heart, effort, and teamwork these girls showed last night, there is so much to be proud of! The girls continue to show improvement with every game and are becoming stronger and more confident playing together as a team. It’s already shaping up to be an exciting season! Next up: Cougar Round Robin on Saturday! The Stars won this tournament last year… can we bring home the trophy again?!
