Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The High School Cross Country teams traveled to Danville Saturday morning for the annual Hokum Karem.  This is a unique relay race with two members each running (3) 1 mile intervals.  In the girls race, the team of Abigayle Humphrey and Joan Gearheart finished 13th with a time of 41:50 with Harmony Gilbrech and Claire Torp coming in 26th at 46:33.  For the boys it was Brennen Bivens and Aiden Lester crossing the line in 4th place with a 32:07, Owen Young and Ari Smith in 20th (34:43), Rex Stanley and Caleb Crockett in 39th (37:41) followed by Blaine Ballentine and Kole Nelson in 43rd (38:47).  There was also a 2 mile reserve race where Katrina Brewer finished 7th in 17:11, Britney Richwine 9th (17:18) and Adalyn Sartin 10th (17:32).  For the boys, it was Simon Yarger in 28th (15:55), Izaak Harsin 35th (18:31), and Jacob Nance in 36th (19:04).  The Stars will be back to  5km racing this Tuesday at Southmont for the Leap Into September Invite.
