8th Grade The Stars absolutely dominated the Mounties last night in a quick two set victory, winning 25–9 and 25–15! Without a doubt, these were the best two sets of volleyball I have seen this team play in the past two years! From start to finish, the Stars came ready to play, and every part of our game was clicking. Our defense showed up BIG, giving South no opportunity at a serving streak and giving up no points during some of their toughest runs. Communication was also on point leaving us with zero drop balls the entire night! We are especially proud of our passers Riley Cervi, Sullie Smith, Bristol Demaree, & Alivia Smith for the incredible job they did in the back row and for helping keep our offense in system all night. The offense was just as impressive! The girls worked together using back-row attacks, smart ball placement, blocking, and tricky hitting plays that showed just how skilled and versatile this team can be. Lexi Wilt helped shut down the Mounties offense with 2 blocks and also led the Stars in kills with 8! With minimal errors, ZERO dropped balls, and only ONE missed serve all night, we couldn’t be prouder of this team and the way they came together! 7th Grade The 7th grade Western Boone volleyball team battled Southmont in a close and competitive match. The team fought hard throughout the game, but unfortunately came up short after a tight third set. Amelia Stambro led the team with 6 aces, while Addison Gregg added another 5 aces to help keep Western Boone competitive. Although the result wasn’t what we wanted, the team showed determination and continued to fight until the very end. With some hard work, practice, and continued teamwork, Western Boone will be ready to come back stronger and prepared for the next game
