Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Lady Stars softball team hosted the Lady Athenians of Crawfordsville in a double header last night. The Stars were able to collect the 11th,and 12th wins of the season to push their record to 12 and 5 . In game one Mickey Burns got the start and the win going 3 and 1/3 inning allowing 0 runs on 1 hit and striking out 7. Raina Lutz came in to close out the final 1 and 2/3 inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 3. The Stars posted 13 runs on 11 hits led by Ashlyn Foster going 3 for 3 on the evening. Burns, Lutz and Shaunna Hitch each went 2 for 3 in the offensive affair as the Stars posted the 13-0 win. In game two of the series Raina Lutz got the start going 2 innings allowing no runs, no hits while striking out 4 to collect the win. Kenzlei Mathews came in to close out the remaining 3 innings allowing no runs on 2 hits while striking out 4. Lutz, Mickey Burns, Kensley Blankenship, Addi Lee, Mady Monks and Shauna Hitch all collect 2 hits in the contest as the Stars posted their 2nd win of the evening in 15-0 fashion. The Stars will be back in action Friday evening as they host the Lady Eagles of Zionsville with a 5:30 pm start.
