Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone varsity golf team competed at the Kent Frandsen Ulen Open on Saturday. Playing in a field loaded with most of the top ranked teams in the state, the Stars looked to get a trial run in for when they return to the same course, seeing most of the same top teams, for their sectional in June. The nerves of being paired with #3 Westfield showed, as the Stars had their first real disappointing day of the season, falling short of their team score goal for the day. Luke LaGrange, who continues to play well, led the Stars with an 88. The team score of 389 resulted in a 17th place finish (18 teams). The group will look to learn from the challenging experience and rebound when they face another tough opponent in Tri-West on Thursday.
