Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The WeBo Junior High B Team completed its sweep of Sheridan with a 14 to 6 victory at home on Wednesday night. The Stars put up 5 runs in the first and 6 in the third inning, adding 2 runs in the second and 1 fourth, leaving no need to bat in the bottom of the fifth. They were led by Aleena Beck, who went 3 for 3 with a double. Aubree Franklin also doubled, and hits were added by Riley Cervi, Lexi Lenehan, and Jo McNamee. Saylor Princell used her speed to make a clutch catch in center field and limit Blackhawk base runners on ground balls. Nova Crahen fielded an overthrow in left field and made a fantastic throw to catcher, McNamee, who made a great tag to get a runner out at home to shut down Sheridan’s big 4th inning. Addi Gregg started and pitched the first four innings and had 4 strikeouts. Nova Crahen, taking the mound for the first time in junior high, came in in the top of the fifth to close it out. She got 3 straight batters to ground to Gregg at shortstop, Amelia Stambro at 2nd, and Beck at 3rd, all throwing to Lenehan at 1st for the final 3 outs.
