The Western Boone Lady Stars completed the sweep of the Lady Tiger Cubs of Greencastle last night pushing their season record to 8-5 and 5-3 in the Monon Athletic Conference, The Stars were able to put 5 runs up on the board over the first 3 innings and that’s all they would need as they only allowed 1 run on a close play at the plate and then shut the Tiger Cubs down over the next 6 innings, collecting the 5-1 win. Mickey Burns got the start for consecutive nights and went 7 innings in another complete game allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 8. The Stars were led at the plate by Kenzlie Mathews and Burns, both collecting 2 hits in the contest. Mady Monks, Raina Lutz and Kensley Blakenship each added a hit of their own on the evening. The Stars will have a night off before heading to Speedway to face off with the Lady Sparkplugs on Friday, May 1st at 5:30pm.
