The Western Boone boys golf team hosted Lafayette Central Catholic and Crawfordsville on Wednesday evening at Cool Lake Golf Club. The weather was ideal, the course was in great shape, and the teams' scores reflected that. A really strong Knights team would win the match with a score of 160, followed by the Athenians at 170 and Western Boone closely behind at 172. The Stars' score was its second lowest in the past three seasons and reflects the upward trajectory the group is on as they keep improving each time out. The Stars were led by senior Luke LaGrange, who more than backed up his strong performance on Tuesday, as he shot a career low 37. Freshman Carson Richardson, yet again, had a strong night with his new low of 43. Freshman Tim Boddicker battled his way to a 45, with a strong close to his round. Freshman Rex Stanley, sophomore Alex Thompson, and senior Asher Foy, would all play well and tie for the third best score with 47s. The night also strong performances from the JV group. Sophomore Rolen Shue recorded a 52, while freshman Landen Miller would join seniors Luke Cummins and Brennan Kopriva, all posting 55s. The Stars varsity returns to Crawfordsville Country Club on Saturday to compete in the Mountie Invite.
