Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

After winning the softball game at home Wednesday night over Crawfordsville, 13-4, the WeBo Jr High A team travelled there for the rematch Thursday. They prevailed again to take their record to 2-1 with a 12-9 victory in 6 innings. Jayden Paris started on the mound and also came back in to get the final 2 outs for the save. In 2-2/3 innings, she gave up no runs with 5 strikeouts. Addi Gregg pitched three innings of middle relief, giving up no hits and no earned runs. Aubree Franklin got some valuable time on the mound as well. The stars jumped out early, building a 10 run lead over the first 2 1/2 innings. This allowed time for players to gain experience outside kit of their primary positions. This led to some growing pains as they committed 12 errors. The offense was led by Kenzie Mikesell, Lexi Lenehan, Jade Hobson, and Cora Reagan all with 2 hits. Also contributing with a hit each were Sullie Smith, in limited action, Amelia Stambro, and Paris. Josephine McNamee, Stambro, Paris, and Reagan also drew walks. This coming Monday night will be a big challenge as both the A and B teams face off at home against Cascade.
