Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Lady Stars hosted Monon Athletic Conference rival Lady Cadets of Cascade last night. The Stars got down early allowing 2 runs in the first but continued to battle but ultimately came up short 5-1 in the 7 inning contest. Ally Lewis got the start in the circle going 4 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. Mickey Burns came in relief in the top of the 5th and pitched 3 innings allowing 2 runs on 2 hits while striking out 1. Mady Monks led the stars at the plate going 2 for the 3 while Burns picked up the only RBI on a 2 out double in the bottom of the 5th. Addi Lee and Lewis each added hits of their own in the contest. The Stars will travel to Clayton tomorrow to try and even things in game two of the conference series with a 6pm start.
