The 7th grade Western Boone Lady Stars concluded their season in impressive fashion, facing off against conference rival the Cascade Cadets on Tuesday night and closing their season with a 34-17 win. After a tight first half tied 13 to 13, the Stars came out of the locker room ready to battle in the second half. The team put up a dominant third quarter led by transition baskets and great team defensive that allowed just two points in the six minutes. The Lady Stars ended up outscoring the Cadets 21 to 4 in the second half to pull away and get win. Bella Edwards poured in 14 points, while Jade Hobson added 7, and Jayden Paris contributed 6. Kora Kistler had 3, Lexi Lenehan chipped in 2, and Chloe McKinney also scored 2. With the 34 to 17 victory, the Lady Stars finished the season with a 14 and 1 record, winning both the Monon Classic and Sugar Creek Classic, and going undefeated in the conference. Great season ladies, keep up the hard work!!! Next, it was the 8th Grade's turn - The Stars started off hot scoring 14 in the first quarter, lead by a continually improving transition offense. The Stars defense played tough as well holding the Cadets to only 3 points in the half. The Stars lead at half 22-3. The second half was much of the same, the Stars in control of both sides of the ball to take a 36-11 victory. Katheryn Gott and Molly Rausch had several rebounds a piece. The stars were lead in scoring by Ella Oakley 13, Ady Nicley 11, Bryar King 8, Molly Rausch and Harper Nance each had 2.
