The seventh-grade Western Boone Lady Stars rolled out of bed and on to victory in the Sugar Creek Classic tournament on Saturday morning, claiming the championship title. They opened their day with a 9 a.m. game against the Crawfordsville Athenians, finishing 38 to 9. Offensively, the Lady Stars moved the ball with ease, finding open teammates and hitting shots within their motion offense. Defensively, they were locked in, allowing just 22 points across both games. Bella Edwards and Jayden Paris led the scoring with 14 points each, while Kora Kistler added 6, Lexi Lenehan 2, and Brooklyn Tatman 2. In the championship game, the Lady Stars continued their early morning good play, defeating the Southmont Mounties 41 to 13. Once again, they showcased both offensive fluidity and defensive intensity. Bella Edwards led the way with 19 points, Jayden Paris added 13, and Kora Kistler chipped in 6. Lexi Lenehan had 3, and Brooklyn Tatman 2. Their communication and teamwork stood out as they improved to a 13-1 record. The Lady Stars will close their season at home this coming Tuesday against the Cascade Cadets. Go Stars!
