Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Boys High School Swim team competed against 12 teams in their Sectional meet at Crawfordsville High School Saturday. The boys started their competition placing 4th in the Medley Relay with the team of Alex Crockett, Jude Balke, Liam Whitely, and Brayden Schick. Jacob Norman started his day with an exciting race and a win in the 200 Free with a new PR (1:49.11), Henry Biggs placed 6th with a new PR (1:57.06), and Brayden Schick placed 11th with a new PR (2:07.83). In the 200 IM Liam Whitely placed 4th with a new PR (2:18.02), Alex Crockett placed 7th with a new PR (2:21.27), and Jacob Schrier placed 14th. The Stars took 7th (Isaac Threlkeld), 8th (Jude Balke), and 9th (Zach Connors) in the 50 Free, and Blaine Ballentine placed 7th in the Diving competition with a new high score (226.70). Isaac Threlkeld swam strong for a 2nd place finish in the 100 Fly, followed by Zach Ford in 13th place with a new PR (1:16.23) and Kolten Conner in 14th. Zach Connors swam for 4th place and a new PR (51.94) in the 100 Free, followed by Brayden Schick in 7th with a new PR (55.77), and Eli Bishop in 16th. In the 500 Free Jacob Norman showed he was the boss winning the competition with a new PR (4:59.74), Henry Biggs placed 4th with a new PR (5:25.76), and Alex Crockett placed 7th. The Stars fought hard for 2nd place finishes in both the 200 Free Relay (Jude Balke, Isaac Threlkeld, Zach Connors, Jacob Norman), and the 400 Free Relay (Zach Connors, Isaac Threlkeld, Jacob Norman). In the 100 Backstroke Eli Baldwin placed 13th with a new PR (1:17.15), and Jacob Schrier placed 15th. Jude Balke placed 4th in the 100 Breaststroke with a new PR (1:06.85), followed by Liam Whitely in 6th place with a new PR (1:08.98), and Gage Bolen in 11th place with a new PR (1:11.59). The Stars fought hard for a 2nd place team finish overall. We are so proud of the boys and their hard work and many accomplishments throughout the season! Jacob Norman is State bound for the 200 Free and 500 Free, and those competitions will take place Friday at the Natatorium in Indianapolis. Good luck Jacob!
