The High School Girls Swim Team faced tough competition in the Sectional Prelims Thursday evening. The team was able to qualify for nearly every event to return Saturday for the Swimming Finals. The Lady Stars started their competition placing 6th in the Medley Relay with the team of Joan Gearheart, Eisley Whitely, Lindsey Steimel, and Claire Torp. In the 200 Free, Evie Maurath placed 5th with a new PR (2:13.25), Rylee Pelley took 10th with a new PR (2:22.49), and Rebecca Rustin got 13th place. Eisley Whitely swam strong for a 2nd place finish and new PR (2:32.95) in the 200 IM, and Claire Torp finished in 12th place. Lindsey Steimel placed 14th in the 50 Free and in the 100 Free Evie Maurath placed 10th with a new PR (1:00.33) and Joan Gearheart placed 15th. In the 100 Fly Lindsey Steimel placed 5th with a new PR (1:12.67), and Jaili Torp placed 13th. In the 500 Free Rylee Pelley dropped nearly 6 seconds for 8th place and a new PR (6:26.58), Rebecca Rustin placed 10th with a new PR (6:38.68), and Rachel Rustin placed 12th with a new PR (6:50.20). The girls placed 6th in the 200 Free Relay with the team of Evie Maurath, Claire Torp, Ellie Whitely, and Rebecca Rustin, and 5th in the 400 Free Relay with the team of Evie Maurath, Lindsey Steimel, Joan Gearheart, and Eisley Whitely. In the 100 Backstroke Joan Gearheart placed 7th and Jaili Torp placed 13th, and in the 100 Breaststroke Eisley Whitely placed 6th and Claire Torp placed 15th with a new PR (1:27.13). The girls team placed 5th out of 13 teams. Congratulations on an amazing season Lady Stars!
