Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The High School Swim team competed in their first Monon Athletic Conference meet on Saturday. The boys started strong, taking 2nd place in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Jacob Norman, Liam Whitely, Isaac Threlkeld, and Jude Balke. Jacob Norman won 1st place in the 200 Free with a new PR of 1:50.69, and Henry Biggs placed 6th in the 200 Free with a new PR (1:58.30). Isaac Threlkeld placed 2nd in the 50 Free with a new PR of 23.38, and he also placed 2nd in the 100 Fly with a new PR of 57.92. Zach Connors fought for 2nd place in the 100 Free with a new PR (52.97), Jacob Norman cruised to 1st place in the 500 Free in 5:06.11, and Henry Biggs placed 4th in the 500 Free with a new PR of 5:29.63. The boys won 2nd place in the 200 Free Relay with the team of Jude Balke, Isaac Threlkeld, Zach Connors, and Jacob Norman, and 4th place in the 400 Free Relay with the team of Alex Crockett, Henry Biggs, Brayden Schick, and Zach Connors. In the 100 Breaststroke Jude Balke placed 3rd with a new PR (1:08.57) and Liam Whitely placed 4th with a new PR (1:10.38). The boys placed 2nd in their Conference meet overall. The girls started their meet fighting hard for 4th place in the Medley Relay with the team of Joan Gearheart, Eisley Whitely, Jaili Torp, and Kate Higer. Eisley Whitely swam strong for 3rd place in the 200 IM with a new PR of 2:34.91, and she placed 5th in the 100 Breaststroke with a new PR of 1:18.73. Evie Maurath placed 5th in the 100 Free with a new PR of 1:00.21, and the girls were 5th in both the 200 Free Relay (Claire Torp, Kate Higer, Evie Maurath, Joan Gearheart) and 400 Free Relay (Evie Maurath, Ellie Whitely, Rebecca Rustin, Eisley Whitely). The Lady Stars finished their conference meet in 3rd place. The Stars have been working hard in the pool and their efforts paid off with most everyone on the team swimming for new best times in Conference Prelims and Finals. The Stars will compete again this Tuesday at home against Brebeuf.
