7th Boys overcome slow start to secure Victory over Rossville

On Monday evening, Western Boone traveled to Rossville to face the Hornets. Rossville’s hustle and gritty play posed a challenge for the Stars. Early in the game, Western Boone struggled to find their rhythm, with turnovers and missed shots hindering their performance. A late first half surge in production propelled WeBo to an 18-13 lead at halftime. This lead would not be threatened again, as Western Boone dominated the second half, ultimately securing a 37-24 victory. Wyatt Redman led the team with 16 points, while Bryson Potter contributed nine points. Casey Richardson added five points, Spencer Worrel scored four points with two transition buckets, and Evan Dexter hit from deep for his three points. In the “B Game,” Western Boone showcased their skills in fast-paced, transition basketball, securing a dominant 50-20 victory. The Stars excelled in pushing the pace and effectively hitting their outlets. Jase Young, Evan Dexter, and Crosby Kinsler played a crucial role in disrupting the Hornets’ offense with their exceptional defense. Eli Pasture and Jackson Gick were instrumental in grabbing rebounds and initiating transition plays. Braxton Hanneman contributed with gritty defense and multiple steals, further stifling the Hornets.
