The Western Boone Stars had an impressive showing at the Monon Classic, capturing two victories over Greencastle and North Putnam in a strong weekend of basketball. The team opened the tournament with high energy, setting the tone early with defense and transition offense. Their teamwork and hustle helped them control the tempo, leading to two convincing wins. In the first game, the Stars beat the Tiger Cubs by a final score of 55-33. The Stars were paced in scoring by Tate Fields with 20 points, followed by Jackson Potter with 16 points, Lukas Harrison with 9 points and Ryder Devol with 5 points. The Stars were rounded out in scoring by Jude Anderson with 3 points and Connor Palmer with 2 points. The Stars started out strong in the second game, running away with a halftime score of 25-4. The second half saw the Stars getting everyone involved in route to a final score of 43-11. The Stars saw scoring in the second game coming from Jackson Potter with 13 points, Tate Fields with 10 points, Connor Palmer with 10 points, Lukas Harison with 3 points, Ryder Devol with 3 points, Jude Anderson with 2 points and Tate Wood with 2 points. The second game featured a strong rebounding performance for the team, with solid efforts coming from Hayden Demaree and Crew Gallimore.
