Stars struggle at Webo Duals

The Webo Varsity Wrestling team were in action Saturday as they hosted the WeBo Duals. The Stars finished 0-5 on the day, but they wrestled hard and continued to fight. Webo wrestlers combined had 9 pins on the day. Scores per Round: Round 1: WeBo 36 Lebanon 45 Round 2: WeBo 13 Southmont 54 Round

By Will Willems will.willems@reporter.net – Nov. 29th 2018 Dover — The numbers aren’t yet there for the Western Boone wrestling team. But they are doing the best with what they have. The Stars lost to Sagamore Conference foe Crawfordsville 59-18 in a dual Thursday evening, but won three of the seven matches that were contested.

Two Stars advance to Regionals; Taylor as alternate

The Western Boone wrestling team travelled to Crawfordsville to compete in Sectionals. The Stars placed 9th out of 11 teams. There were 3 wrestlers, out of 6, that placed in the top 5 in the respected weight class. Jacob Parsons (113 lbs.) and Jacob Fennell (152 lbs.) will move on to compete in the Regional

Stars pinned by Tigers

The Western Boone wrestling team traveled to Lebanon Thursday night as they took on the Tigers. Webo goes down to Lebanon 9 – 63. Winning for the Stars were Evan Smith (132 lbs.) via pin and Robby Taylor (170 lbs.) via decision. The Stars will compete at Sectionals on Saturday at Crawfordsville starting at 8:30 am.

The Western Boone wrestling team traveled to North Montgomery to compete in the Conference Tournament. The Stars scored 61 points as a team and placed 8th. Wrestling Comes Up Short Against the Bruins

The Western Boone wrestling team was in action Tuesday night as they hosted the Tri-West Bruins. The Stars won 3 of the 4 wrestled matches, but go down to Tri-West in a close 27-36 match. Winners for the Stars: 106 lbs. – Cooper Williams by pin 113 lbs. – Jacob Parsons by forfeit 126 lbs.

Over the break, the wrestling team travelled to Connersville High School to compete in their invite. Cooper Williams was the lone placer for the Stars at Connorsville.
