Stars ready to contend with Sagamore’s best

By Will Willems Dover — There is plenty of reason for optimism at Western Boone when it comes to the upcoming softball season. The Stars lost a couple of key seniors to graduation, but return six of their top seven hitters and both of their pitchers from a squad that finished 14-15 a season ago.

Wednesday Night Softball traveled to Hamilton Heights on Wednesday night and defeated the Huskies 9-4. Softball defeats #1

Saturday the Stars softball team defeated the #1 team in Class 2A, Elwood. Webo won in the bottom of the 7th. Heather Clark battled in an epic at bat finally hitting in Camryn Savage for the 4-3 victory. The Stars will face conference foe Frankfort Tuesday and then at home on Thursday.
