News · Stars can’t catch up with Chargers

The Stars fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-1 loss to North Montgomery on Wednesday. Tyler Brunty started the game for WeBoi.  The pitcher allowed five hits and six runs over five and a third innings, striking out six. Mitch Miller threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.  Zach Collins and Elliott Young each managed one hit to lead Western Boone Stars Varsity.


Wednesday’s game against North Montgomery was a heartbreaker for Western Boone Stars JV, as they lost the lead late in a 17-10 defeat. Despite the loss,  Stars JV did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, North Montgomery had 16 hits on the way to victory.  Bryce Kopriva took the loss for Western Boone. The righthander surrendered ten runs on nine hits over four and a third innings, striking out nine. Luke Wirey went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Western Boone in hits. WeBo is back in action Monday vs Clinton Prairie
