The Western Boone Stars Varsity baseball team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-4 loss to North Montgomery on Tuesday.
The Western Boone varsity baseball team struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing North Montgomery, giving up 11 runs. North Montgomery scored eight runs in the third inning. Elliott Young toed the rubber for Western Boone Stars Varsity. Young allowed nine hits and 11 runs over six innings, striking out four. Eli McClaine, Andrew Foster, and Tyler Brunty each collected one hit to lead Western Boone Stars Varsity.
The JV lost 5 to 2 although Luke Jackson turned in a solid pitching performance. The 2 runs were scored by Jaxon Grimes and Hunter Brose. 4 unearned runs were the difference. The bats were slow to get going although too many runners were left on base. NM had a solid lhp that webo batters had to face for their first game. Webo turned in an excellent second half of the game, but could not close the gap. The jv squad will bounce back tomorrow at home vs NM for a rematch.
