News · JH Swimmers fall to Bruins


The junior high swim teams faced Tri-West Thursday evening in a challenging meet.  Both teams fell to the Bruins; girls: 108-64 and boys: 131-47.  Jenna Twitty brought home Webo’s only two event wins last night, taking first place in the 50-yard butterfly (36.63) and 100-yard backstroke (1:21.09).  Twitty was also a part of the medley relay team of Micah Hole, Lindsey Steimel, and Abigail Scott that earned second place in a time of 2:34.78.  The same relay team took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay as well (2:13.10).  Steimel also took second place in her two individual events, the 100-yard IM (1:27.48) and the 400-yard freestyle (5:54.19).  Scott brought home a second place in the 50-yard freestyle, too (34.43). Hole finished out the individual events with a second place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:41.01) as well. To end the meet for the ladies, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Annalise Monsewicz, Brook Boss, Rebecca Rustin, and Lilly Maners took second place in a time of 6:07.43.  The boys’ team had several notable finishes for the evening.  The medley relay team of Jacob Norman, Carver Bragg, Malachi Catterson, and Isaac Threlkeld started the meet with a second-place finish (2:42.22).  Norman took second in the 100-yard IM as well in a time of 1:26.99.  Threlkeld had a close race in the 50-yard freestyle and came second with a time of 29.39; he placed the same in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:10.95.  Jonathan Rutherford, Bragg, Norman, and Threlkeld came together for the 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 2:13.16 (2nd).  The junior high swim team will face the Lebanon Tigersharks next Tuesday for their next meet.
