The boys and girls junior high swim teams faced Fountain Central on Tuesday night. The boys came out on top, winning 97-39. The girls fought hard but fell to the Mustangs 93-71. The girls medley relay team of Jenna Twitty, Micah Hole, Lindsey Steimel, and Lilly Maners kicked off the meet with a second-place finish in a time of 2:31.41. The boys’ medley relay team of Jacob Norman, Carver Bragg, Jonathan Rutherford, and Isaac Threlkeld followed that up with a win in a time of 2:48.86. Chase Collier and Norman followed with two wins in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard IM. Also in the 100-yard IM, Twitty, Hole, and Steimel went 1-2-3 for the girls, sweeping the event. In the 50-yard freestyle, Maners took second place for the girls in a time of 34.69; for the boys, Threlkeld and Bragg took first and second with times of 29.22 and 34.82 respectively. Steimel gained another first for the girls in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 39.13. Rebecca Rustin earned second-place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:30.34; Xander Rouse, Collier, and Asher Foy swept the boys’ 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:22.23, 1:22.43, and 1:39.72 respectively. Both teams also had wins in the 200-yard freestyle relay; for girls: Twitty, Maners, Abigail Scott, and Steimel (2:16.25); for boys: Threlkeld, Collier, Bragg, and Norman (2:14.78). In the 100-yard backstroke, Webo girls took first and second (Twitty, 1:20.65 and Scott, 1:32.25), then Norman and Rouse did the same for the boys in that event (1:28.16 and 1:37.68). In the final individual event of the night, the 100-yard breaststroke, Hole placed second in a time of 1:41.22 for the girls, and Bragg brought home a win for the boys in a time of 2:00.05
