The Lady Stars were handed their 15th loss of the season Saturday afternoon with a loss to Clinton Prairie; 46-23. The stars competed hard on the defensive end holding the Gophers well below their season average in scoring, but the Stars could not find enough on the offensive end to overcome the Gophers in the second half. Leading the stars on the rebounding was Emmy Roys pulling down a monstrous 11 rebounds. Emily Conyer led the stars in scoring with 8.
The JV Lady Stars hosted Clinton Prairie Saturday for an exciting morning of basketball. The Stars trailed for most of the game, the first quarter ended down 8 to 11 and finished the half 18 to 27. In the third quarter the Stars held Prairie to only 3 points and went into the forth 28 to 30. Aggressive defense and a few key baskets turned into a hard fought win for Western Boone ending the game 41 to 40. Leading scorer of the day was Stef Dickerson with 12, Gabby Lewis and Alayna Christner both added 9, Brooke Smith had 7 with a big 3 pointer in the forth and Lillie Cripe added 4 for the team.
