News · WeBo Wrestlers Narrowly Defeated by Clinton Central

On Thursday, the Western Boone Wrestling team traveled to Clinton Central High School for the first dual meet of the New Year.  The Stars won three of the five contested varsity matches, but came up just short with the final score being 27-33.

The evening started at 145lbs with the Stars’ Jaden Bailey getting a solid decision 5-1.  At 152lbs, Ethan Williams battled hard and avoided the major decision, but lost 11-4.  At 170lbs, Trevor Weakley extended his undefeated streak to 15 matches with a pin in 1m 08s.  At 182 pounds, the Bulldogs took advantage of a 20lb weight advantage over WeBo’s Brant Pitcher to secure a win by pin in 3m55s.  In the heavyweight division, Perrin Emberton got a little revenge by pinning his opponent in 3m55s.  Evan Trent and Mason Adams both received forfeits for the team, but then wrestled exhibition matches at the conclusion of the dual meet.  Evan Trent won his match by pin in 2m52s.  Mason Adams bumped up to the 145lbs weight class and managed to walk away with a victory by fall in 3m52s.

On Saturday, the team will travel to Frankfort to participate in the Sagamore Conference Tournament.
