Boys 7th Grade Basketball, Boys 8th Grade Basketball · 7th Grade Stars pick up a win to end regular season


The 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball teams hosted the Clinton Central Bulldogs on their final game of the regular season. The Stars were determined to get a win right before the Western Boone Invitational on Saturday. The 7th grade team played great team defense as they held the Bulldogs to 7 points on the night. The Stars played a well balanced game on the offensive side with numerous of players getting in on the action. The Stars were able to pick up a win over the Bulldogs, 52-7.

The 8th grade team tried to follow suit with the 7th grade as they looked to pick up their first win of the year. The Stars played their best half of basketball in the first half. The Stars were able to take a one point lead heading into the break. The second half was a different story. The Bulldogs held the Stars to one point in the third quarter. The Stars tried to make a comeback, but fell short to the Bulldogs 31-23. The Stars were led by Philip Talbott with 14 points. Carter Hanna added 4.

The Stars will gear up for Saturday as they participate in the Western Boone Invitational. The invitational will include the Sheridan Blackhawks, the Speedway Sparkplugs, and the Tri-West Bruins. The 7th grade will start the morning off playing at 9:00 AM against Speedway. The 8th grade will follow.
