Multiple Teams · Stars struggle at Lebanon

The freshmen, boys JV, and girls JV teams traveled to Lebanon Thursday night as they faced the Tigers. The freshmen team lost a close one 39-35. The Stars were led in scoring by Evan Crowley with 9 points. Luke Barta and Damian Stout both added 6 a piece. After a slow start and trailing 13-6 to end the first quarter, the Stars rebounded to lead 17-15 at the half. Lebanon regained the lead to end the 3rd quarter but the Stars refused to go away. After getting the game back within two possessions early in the 4th quarter, the Stars just weren’t able to put enough back to back plays together to get over the hump. Though it was a total team effort with great effort from all, Kaden Bennington, Jake Taylor, Eli McClaine, Blake Miller & Jake Johnson all chipped in on scoring and making plays throughout the night.

The JV Lady Stars fell short with the game ending score of 33-14. Turnovers plagued the Lady Stars in the first half but improved in the second half and found some composure.

The JV Stars fell to a pretty good Lebanon team, 35-13. The Stars played hard but were unable to hit any shots throughout the night. Marcus Stepp led the Stars with 6 points despite foul trouble.

The freshmen team will be back in action Monday as they travel to Lafayette Central Catholic starting at 6:00 PM.

The boys JV team will be back in action on Tuesday as they will travel to Rossville to face the Hornets starting at 6:00 PM.

The girls JV team will be back in action Friday as they will host the Southmont Mounties. This will be a boy/girl double header for both the JV and varsity teams. The JV boys will play at 6:00 PM, with the JV girls following.
