Boys 7th Grade Basketball, Boys 8th Grade Basketball · Stars split with Crawfordsville


The 7th and 8th grade basketball teams were in action Monday night. The 7th grade teams traveled to Crawfordsville as the 8th grade teams were at home playing Crawfordsville.

The 7th grade A team picked up their 2nd victory of the season with a score of 31-12. The Stars played well with all players scoring, making good decisions with the ball, and playing better defense. Leading the balanced scoring attack were Eli Mitchell,  Brandon Potter, and Luke Adkins. The B team also picked up the win in a close, exciting, game winning 31 – 26. The Stars had very balanced scoring with Zayne Thompson leading the way.

The 8th grade A team got off to a good start and lead 11-5 at the end of the first quarter. Crawfordsville turned up the full court press and held the Stars scoreless in the 2nd quarter and took the lead into the half. Crawfordsville kept up the pressure in the second half and closed out the game with a final 47-28. Stars were led by Jack Kinsel with 10 points and Carter Elkins with 8 points. The B team were outsized and had no answer for the full court press and tough man to man defense of Crawfordsville. The Stars fell 39-4.
The Stars will be back in action tonight as they travel to Northridge. This will be an A only game. The 7th grade will start at 6:00 PM, with the 8th grade to follow.
