Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · Stars win SAC Championship on Dig Pink Night

The JV and Varsity volleyball teams are conference champs!! The JV team started off the momentous night by defeating the Bruins with a set score of 2-0. Kayla Aliff and Audrey Dunn led the team with amazing kills from the outside while Kiara Murdock and Saige Terwiske were a threat at the net in the middle. Chloe Gillan and Jacelyn Wilson helped the team and offense with their great passing. Lindsey Coffman led the offense with many hustle plays and great sets. In between the JV and varsity game, the volleyball team presented blankets to the Boone County Sheriff officers. The players made the blankets before a couple games as their community service project to help children in need. The blankets were donated in the honor of Anna Aliff.

The varsity match was next and it started off close in the first set.  It took 5 sets to beat the Bruins, but the Stars finished the night victorious in the 5th set.  The game sets were 19-25, 25-21, 25-18, 21-25 and 15-9. The win wouldn’t have been possible without each girl playing their best against a very talented Tri-West team. The win started with the impressive passing from the back row.  Maddie Hawkins led with 29 digs while Maddie Holubik had 26 and Marli Ransom had 8 digs. Holly Thompson and Elena Gubera were key factors in the win with their digs and setting up the offense. Holly had 24 assists while Elena finished 21 assists.  The offense was led by the strong hitting and blocking of Tori Wilkinson, Kendal Ramey, Anna Jones, Alyssa Wethington, and Kennedy Kiger. Leading the team with kills was Tori Wilkinson with 16 kills and Kendal Ramey with 13 kills. Kennedy Kiger and Alyssa Wethington had 9 kills while Anna Jones had 4 kills and numerous blocks that slowed down Tri-West’s offense.

Thank you for all the fans that came to support the team to be conference champs and for purchasing items in the breast cancer raffle.  The Stars and Bruins raised $1,185.00 to be donated to the Boone County Cancer Society.
