The Western Boone boys’ tennis team attempted to do something that has only been done once by any team in the past 30 years, knock off Zionsville in a sectional match. The Stars fell short of their goal, falling 0-5 to the #12 ranked Eagles. The match of the night went to Zach Collins at 3 singles. Zach took leads in both sets, but Austin Kuklah overcame those early leads and defeated Collins 2-6, 4-6. The loss ends the Stars’ historic season at 21-1, but the successes and memories will not be tarnished by one defeat. The loss also ends the careers of Chase Lee and Aidan Smith. In four years of high school tennis, the duo ended with 53 wins each. They combined for a 50-10 record for their career as #1 and #2 doubles partners. Congratulations fellas!
