Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · Stars struggle against Monrovia


The volleyball team traveled to Monrovia on Monday night to take on the Bulldogs. The JV team played a great match beating Monrovia 25-17 and 25-9. Audrey Dunn led the team with 11 kills and Kayla Aliff had 4 kills with 12 digs. Raeleigh Hardee and Jacelyn Wilson played great defense each earning 4 digs. The varsity match started strong with the Stars winning the first set 25-19. Things went south for the Stars after capturing the first set. The Stars were unable to power through mental errors as they lost the next 3 sets 19-25, 19-25, and 21-25. Kendal Ramey and Alyssa Wethington led the offense with 9 kills. Maddie Hawkins had 14 digs, Maddie Holubik had 17 digs, and Marli Ransom had 13 digs. Elena Gubera had 22 assists on the night while Holly Thompson had many hustle plays along with 13 assists.

The Stars will host Harrison tonight with the JV team starting at 6:00 pm.
