Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · Stars sweep the Hot Dogs in straight sets

The Western Boone volleyball teams traveled to Frankfort Thursday night for a Sagamore Conference Matchup against the Hot Dogs. The JV team started slow on both of their sets, but ended strong beating the Hot Dogs 25-10 and 25-19. Saige Terwiske had many great serves to gain a large lead in the second set. Audrey Dunn led the team with 7 kills. The varsity team was up next and beat Frankfort in 3 sets with scores of 25-14, 25-17, and 25-16. Tori Wilkinson led the team with 11 kills with Kendal Ramey right behind with 9 kills. Alyssa Wethington and Kennedy Kiger had a solid night of blocking with 7 kills each. Elena Gubera finished the night with 22 assists while Holly Thompson contributed 15. The back row defense did not disappoint with Maddie Hawkins leading with 23 digs, Maddie Holubik with 17 digs, and Marli Ransom with 10 digs.

The Stars will be back in action Monday as they travel to Monrovia for a 5:30 pm start.
