Multiple Teams · WeBo Volleyball program shines over the weekend

It was a busy day on Saturday for the volleyball program this past weekend. The 7th and 8th grade teams played in their own Western Boone Invite. The 7th grade were crowned champions while the 8th grade finished runners up! The JV team traveled to Southmont for the Sagamore Conference Tournament. The Stars defeated Lebanon, Southmont, and Tri-West in straight sets to become SAC Champions for the 5th consecutive year!

The varsity team traveled to the Noblesville Invite with 12 teams in the tournament. The Stars started the morning by playing Terre Haute North and beat them 25-18 and 25-8. They moved onto Huntington North and won in three sets, 24-26, 25-14, and 15-8. After winning both matches, the varsity team moved into the gold bracket to take on Fort Wayne Snider. The girls played very consistent in that match making minimal errors to win the match 25-17 and 25-12. The championship match was next and the team would face a very good Noblesville team. In the first set, the stars started strong but lost momentum to end the first set 16-25. With a lot of determination and energy, the Stars played their best set of the year winning 25-17. It all came to the third set and unfortunately the team made too many mistakes at the end of the set to lose 12-15. The girls played amazing and represented Webo well at the tournament.

The Stars look to continue in making strides as they look to McCutcheon on Tuesday for a 6:00 pm start.
