Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · Stars dug deep to defeat the Warriors


The Sagamore Conference match up between Webo and Danville didn’t disappoint the crowd for both the JV and Varsity matches. The JV team beat the Warriors in 2 with a match score of 25-20 and 25-16. Kayla Aliff led the Stars with 9 kills while Audrey Dunn and JoLee Bowman each had 4. Lindsey Coffman had a great defensive night with several great saves ending the night with 4 digs, 2 dumps, and 11 assists. The varsity team was up next and they came out strong getting an early lead of 17-11.  Danville made an impressive run and didn’t give up to take the set 28-26. The Stars battled back after the first set loss to win the next 3 close sets 25-22, 25-21, and 26-24. The players did an amazing job handling the pressure and tight sets for each set. It was a career high night for most of the players with Maddie Holubik and Alyssa Wethington had their best matches of the season. Wethington stepped up with her blocking and finished the night with 9 kills and several key blocks. Maddie Holubik had a career high of 41 digs. Kendal Ramey finished with 10 kills and Tori Wilkinson had her career high of 20 kills. Maddie Hawkins also did a great job as libero with 39 digs. Holly Thompson was key in the win with 31 assists and 18 digs.

The girls play on Thursday at home against Guerin Catholic starting at 5:30 pm.
