Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · Stars outmatched by Sparkplugs

The boys’ soccer team hosted the Speedway Sparkplugs Tuesday night on the new turf field. Speedway took the lead at the 10 minute mark and dominated most of the first half with the score 3-0. The Stars started the second half in search of their first goal and were awarded a penalty kick when Nik Pierce got fouled in the penalty area. Hunter Peri scored the penalty kick making the score 3-1.  The Stars continued with their offensive attacks but were unable to capitalize on the opportunities. The final score was 7 – 1.

The JV soccer team hosted the Speedway Sparkplugs Tuesday night in their first debut on the turf field. The Sparkplugs capitalize on the defensive breakdown by opening the score at the 8th minute mark. At half time the score was 7-0. In the second half, the offensive attacks by the Sparkplugs continued with the final score 12-0.

The Stars will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Frankfort, game time 5:30 pm.
