Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · Stars fall to Brebeuf in 5

It was a thrilling night for both the JV and varsity volleyball teams last night against Brebeuf. The JV team lost in 3 with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, and 10-15. Chloe Gillan had one of her best matches with several impressive digs and consistent passes in serve receive. Kayla Aliff, Kiara Murdock, and Saige Terwiske had an impressive night with their hitting and blocking. Lindsey Coffman did a great job of leading the offense with many assists to end the match.

The varsity team started strong on the first set winning 25-21 with many impressive kills and defensive plays. Brebeuf battled back to win the next two sets with scores of 22-25 and 17-25. The fourth set was one of the most thrilling sets when the stars came out aggressive winning the set 25-18. In the fifth set, Brebeuf got an early lead and Webo couldn’t get on a run to win the set with a score 10-15. Alyssa Wethington had her best match of the season with 9 kills and several amazing blocks. Tori Wilkinson finished with 11 kills and Kennedy Kiger had 9 kills. The offense was led by Holly Thompson with 16 assists and Elena Gubera with 22 assists and 18 digs. The defense for the Stars did very well with Maddie Hawkins ending with 22 digs, Marli Ransom had 16 digs, and Maddie Holubik had 18 digs.

The Stars will play their next match at home against Southmont with the JV starting at 12 pm and varsity at 1 pm.
