Boys Varsity Baseball · Stars Wrangles Victory From Danville After Back-And-Forth Game


The Stars and Danville traded the lead back-and-forth on Monday, but eventually Stars prevailed 8-6. The game was tied at six with Stars batting in the top of the ninth when Adam Konz singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Bats blistered as Stars collected nine hits and Danville tallied nine in the high-scoring game.
In the second inning, Stars got their offense started. Jonathan McAtee drove in one when he singled.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Danville tied things up at six. Mitch Miller threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Danville.
Miller pitched Stars to victory. He surrendered two runs on four hits over four and two-thirds innings.
Kaden Whitehead took the loss for Danville. He went one and one-third innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out one and walking one.
 Elliott Young started the game for Stars. He allowed five hits and four runs over four and a third innings, striking out two Kaleb Gentry started the game for Danville. He lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out eight
The Stars racked up nine hits in the game. Konz and Miller all had multiple hits for Stars. Konz led Stars with three hits in five at bats.
The Stars look to make it two in a row as they host Danville tonight at 5:30 pm.
