The Varsity Baseball team traveled to Frankfort on Friday to take on the Hot Dogs. The Stars stayed in it until the end, but Frankfort pulled away late in a 5-3 victory on Friday. The game was tied at three with Frankfort batting in the bottom of the sixth when Braden Compton singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
The Stars lost despite out-hitting Frankfort six to five.
Jose Valdes-Sandoval took the win for Frankfort. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out four and walking one.
Adam Pratt took the loss for Stars. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out two and walking one.
Casey Henry started the game for Frankfort. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out two
Brett Wethington went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Stars in hits.
The Stars look to bounce back on Saturday for a double header at North Montgomery. Playing North Montgomery at 10 am and Clinton Central at 12 pm.
