The WeBo boy’s junior high swim team may be small in numbers, but they are mighty. The team of 8 boys placed 4th out of 8 teams at the Sagamore Conference meet Tuesday night, just three points behind the 3rd place team. The boys swam with intensity and heart. They finished with 18 best times out of 24 swims.
Tanner Weakley scored 37 points for the Stars. Weakley won the 200 yard freestyle, dropping nearly 7 seconds off of his previous best time. Weakley also dropped 13 seconds off of his 400 yard freestyle but was narrowly out touched, finishing in 2nd.
Luke Whiteley scored 30 points for the Stars team. Whiteley had best times in his events placing 4th in both the 100 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke.
Daniel Talbott added 29 points for the Stars. Talbott placed 2nd in the 50 yard freestyle, tying his previous best time. Talbott also had a best time in his 100 yard backstroke, placing 7th.
Carson Griggs scored 28 points for the Stars. Griggs had all best times on the night placing 4th in the 50 yard butterfly and 6th in the 100 individual medley.
First year swimmer, Thomas Haram collected 22 points for the Stars. Haram dropped 6 seconds in his 200 yard freestyle placing 9th. Haram moved from an 11th seed into 6th place in the 100 yard freestyle cutting nearly 6 seconds off of his best time.
Zane Allen scored 15 points for the Stars. Allen placed 11th in the 100 yard individual medley and 9th in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Isaac Garringer finished 18th in the 50 yard freestyle and 21st in the 100 yard backstroke.
The 200 medley relay team of Weakley, Whiteley, Griggs, and Talbott placed 2nd with their best time of the season.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Whiteley, Allen, Haram, and Adam Smith had a best time finishing in 3rd place.
The 400 yard freestyle relay team including Griggs, Haram, Talbott, and Weakley placed 4th with their best time.
