Boys Middle School Swimming, Girls Middle School Swimming · Fettig breaks diving record as Stars split with Danville


WeBo junior high swim and dive team competed against Danville Thursday night.  The girl’s team won 126-54.  The boy’s team lost 102-76.
An exciting thing happened at our meet! Eighth grader, Leelah Fettig, showed her awesome athleticism by winning diving and breaking the Western Boone school record with a score of 148.55.
Other individual winners for the girls include:
Emma Mitchell in the 200 and 400 yard freestyle. Adelaide Jones in the 100 yard breaststroke and 100 yard freestyle. KaLeigh Steimel in the 50 yard freestyle. Hannah Hayden in the 50 yard butterfly. Rashel Anderson in the 100 yard backstroke.
All three of the girl’s relay teams placed first. The medley relay included Anderson, Jones, Katherine Aliff and Hayden. The 200 yard free relay team included Jones, Hayden, Katie Crowley, and Mitchell. Members of the winning 400 yard freestyle relay team was Steimel, Crowley, Anderson, and Mitchell.
The individual winners for the boys team include:
Carson Griggs in the 100 yard individual medley and the 50 yard butterfly. Daniel Talbott in the 100 yard freestyle. Tanner Weakley in the 100 yard backstroke. Luke Whiteley in the 100 yard breaststroke.
The boys 200 yard medley relay team of Weakley, Whiteley, Griggs, and Zane Allen placed first. The boys 400 yard freestyle relay team also won with Griggs, Talbott, Thomas Haram, and Weakley.
The relay team of Veronica Pope, Jaci Swope, Steimel, and Micah Hole placed third in the 200 yard medley relay. Crowley placed second in the 200 yard free followed by Brooklyn Schiery in fourth.
Whiteley and Haram were second and fourth in the boys 200 yard freestyle. Aliff and Hole placed second and fourth in the girls 100 yard individual medley. Zane Allen was third in the 100 yard individual medley.
Hayden placed second in the 50 free followed by Anderson in third. Talbott placed second in the boy’s 50 free. Kris Smith was fifth. Elena Gubera placed second in diving. Aliff and Nevaeh Gallimore were third and fourth in the girl’s 50 fly.
Katie Crowley and Linzy Stow placed third and fourth in the 100 yard freestyle. Thomas Haram was third in the boy’s 100 free.  Steimel was second in the 400 yard freestyle. Lilly Wilhite placed fifth. Weakley was narrowly out touched in the boy’s 400 free to finish in second. Whiteley, Allen, Haram, Talbott placed second in the boy’s 200 yard freestyle relay.
Pope and Hole placed third and fourth in the girl’s 100 yard backstroke. Isaac Garringer came in fifth for the boys. Jenna Twitty finished third in the 100 yard breaststroke. Zane Allen placed second for the boy’s. Gallimore, Stow, Gabby Glasson, and Pope placed third in the girl’s 400 yard freestyle relay.
The Stars will travel to Tecumseh on Tuesday for a three-way meet with Clinton Central starting at 6 pm.
