Boys Middle School Swimming, Girls Middle School Swimming · Star swimmers sweep the Hot Dogs

The Western Boone swim teams traveled to Frankfort last night to take on the Hot Dogs.  Both the girls and boys teams won!  The girls remain undefeated, winning 143-43.  The team of eight boys gained their first win of the season with a score of 77-40.
The girl’s team placed first, second, and third in six of eight individual events. In the 200 free was Rashel Anderson, Katherine Aliff, and Jenna Twitty.  Placing 1-2-3 in the 100 free was KaLeigh Steimel, Katie Crowley, and Katherine Aliff. The top three in the girl’s 50 yard butterfly was Nevaeh Gallimore, Linzy Stow, Brooklyn Schiery. The 50 yard freestyle was won by Hannah Hayden followed by Steimel and Gallimore. Emma Mitchell, Anderson and Twitty placed first, second, and third in the 100 backstroke. The top three places in the 100 breaststroke went to Addie Jones, Lilly Wilhite, and Leelah Fettig.
The girl’s 200 yard medley relay team of Emma Mitchell, Addie Jones, Hannah Hayden, and KaLeigh Steimel placed first.  Veronica Pope, Lilly Wilhite, Linzy Stow, and Nevaeh Gallimore placed second in the 200 yard medley relay. Tanner Weakley, Luke Whiteley, Carson Griggs, and Zane Allen made up the winning boy’s 200 medley relay team.
Carson Griggs won both the 100 individual medley and the 50 yard butterfly. Daniel Talbott was second in the IM with Zane Allen placing fourth. Talbott was also fourth in the butterfly.
Addie Jones won the 100 yard individual medley with Katie Crowley placing third and Lilly Wilhite placing fourth. Hannah Hayden won the 400 yard free followed by Bella Marsh in second and Annabelle Mickschl in fourth.
Leelah Fettig placed first in diving. Elena Gubera was fourth. Tanner Weakley won both the 100 backstroke and the 50 free.  Thomas Haram placed second in the 50 and Kris Smith fifth. Weakley was followed by Isaac Garringer in third and Kris Smith in fourth in the backstroke.
Luke Whiteley and Thomas Haram placed first and second in the 100 yard freestyle. Isaac Garringer was fifth.
Both the girl’s and boy’s 200 yard freestyle relay teams won. Mitchell, Anderson, Steimel, and Jones made up the girl’s team. For the boys, Thomas Haram, Zane Allen, Daniel Talbott, and Luke Whiteley placed first.
The girl’s 400 yard freestyle relay team placed first and second. In first was, Hayden, Crowley, Anderson, and Mitchell. Second place went to Gallimore, Stow, Schiery, and Aliff.
The boy’s 400 yard freestyle relay team also won. That team included Griggs, Talbott, Whiteley, and Weakley.
Fifteen of the eighteen girls competing had one or more best times. Five of the eight boys swam best times.
