Boys Middle School Swimming, Girls Middle School Swimming · Star swimmers split with Crawfordsville


Western Boone JH swim and dive team competed against Crawfordsville Tuesday night.  Final scores were, WeBo girls 112, Crawfordsville girls 74.  WeBo boys lost to Crawfordsville 57 to 80.
Both the girl’s and boy’s 200 yard medley relay team won.  Members of those teams include Rashel Anderson, Adelaide Jones, Katherine Aliff, and Emma Mitchell.  The boys team was Tanner Weakley, Luke Whiteley, Carson Griggs, and Zane Allen.
KaLeigh Steimel placed first in the 200 yard freestyle, Rashel Anderson was third, followed by Nevaeh Gallimore in fifth.
Tanner Weakley won the 100 yard backstroke and placed second in the 200 yard freestyle.
Hannah Hayden placed second in the girls 100 yard individual medley followed by Jaci Swope in third. Carson Griggs was second in the individual medley. Griggs also placed second in the 50 yard butterfly.
Emma Mitchell won both of her individual events tonight, the 50 yard freestyle and the 400 yard freestyle. Katie Crowley was third in the 50 followed by Brooklyn Schiery in fifth. Crowley placed third in the 400 free with Katherine Aliff coming in fourth.
Adam Smith and Zane Allen placed first and second in the boy’s 50 yard freestyle. Smith placed third in the boys 50 yard butterfly. Allen was second in the 400 yard freestyle. Isaac Garringer placed fifth in the 50 yard freestyle.
Leelah Fettig placed second in diving. Elena Gubera was third.  Avalynn Hankins finished out in fifth place.
WeBo girls racked up points placing second, third, and fourth in the girl’s 50 yard butterfly with Hannah Hayden, Katherine Aliff, and Jenna Twitty.
Adelaide Jones won both of her individual events tonight, the 100 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke. KaLeigh Steimel placed second in the 100 freestyle. Jaci Swope was third in the 100 breaststroke.
Luke Whiteley had two best times tonight winning the 100 yard breaststroke and placing second in the 100 yard freestyle.
Winning the 200 yard freestyle relay was Rashel Anderson, Hannah Hayden, KaLeigh Steimel, and Adelaide Jones. The team of Jenna Twitty, Nevaeh Gallimore, Linzy Stow, and Brooklyn Schiery placed third.
Rashel Anderson, Hannah Kinsel, and Annabelle Mickschl placed second, third, and fifth in the 100 yard backstroke.
Western Boone girls took first and second place in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Winning that event was Hannah Hayden, Katie Crowley, KaLeigh Steimel, and Emma Mitchell. Second place was the team of Neveah Gallimore, Linzy Stow, Brooklyn Schiery, and Katherine Aliff.
WeBo boys were second in the 400 yard freestyle relay with Adam Smith, Carson Griggs, Zane Allen, and Tanner Weakley.
Best times for the night were achieved by Adelaide Jones, Bella Marsh, Emma Mitchell, Hannah Hayden, Hannah Kinsel, Jaci Swope, Jenna Twitty, Katie Crowley, KaLeigh Steimel, Katherine Aliff, Linzy Stow, Adam Smith, Carson Griggs, Luke Whiteley, Tanner Weakley, and Zane Allen.

Western Boone’s next swim meet will both be on the road, Frankfort next Wednesday followed by Danville on Thursday.
